Newly Posted Academic Positions at Canadian Law Schools

Apologies in advance if i missed any.

Generally, for authoritative listings of jobs in Canadian faculties of law, I’d look to the Canadian Council of Law Dean’s page, here.  I’ve set Chrome’s pagemonitor to tell me if things change on that page – who knows if that will work, but i’ll let you know if it’s a good system.

  • In addition to a Dean search, University of Manitoba Robson Faculty of Law has two positions open – see here and here. Open until filled but review of applications starts January 4, 2016.
  • University of Calgary has up to three tenure/tenure-track positions, open until filled but aim for December 22 as the deadline. See here.   Same school has a Chair in Energy Market Regulation search on as well.

Lorna Turnbull appointed Dean of Law at Manitoba Law School

Some nice news for Manitobans, Winnipeggers, and the rest of us too.

Here’s Lorna’s faculty page at Manitoba. She’s been acting dean since 2010. She’s the author of many things including Double Jeopardy
Motherwork and the Law
, published by Sumach Press (read Uvic’s Rebecca Johnson reviewing this book, here).  I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lorna through the Canadian Association of Law Teachers, and of course seeing her at scholarly/feminist events over the years.  She even taught here at Osgoode (but before I arrived).  This is great news – congratulations, Lorna, and to the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law.  Link to official announcement.
